No part of downtown has changed more dramatically this past decade than Deep Deuce. Looking back, it seems like a sure thing for development. But consider this: back in 2003, the empty surface parking lots you see were owned by Kerr-McGee, and CEO Luke Corbett was showing no interest yet in selling the property. And until that transaction took place, thanks to some work by Ron Bradshaw, Deep Deuce development appeared limited to a few properties Urban Renewal still owned in and around the Deep Deuce apartments area and what is now known as “The Hill” that overlooks Deep Deuce (just to the east of the images shown above).
We’ll visit The Hill tomorrow.
