“You run into things you just didn't plan on,” Miller said. “Like when we were building (Spring Creek Elementary) we ran into drainage problem, and we had to make a change, which cost us a quarter of a million dollars.”

All eight construction projects are planned for completion by August 2013, according to a news release, and the bond issue will ensure projects are not delayed. Deer Creek will then have 14 new or renovated facilities.

“I regret that we're a little short, but it's pretty minute considering what the project has done for the district,” Miller said.

The deadline to register to vote is April 19.

Early voting will be held May 10 and 13 at the Oklahoma County Election Board office, 4201 N Lincoln Blvd. For information on registering to vote, visit http://www.oklahomacounty.org/electionboard/.
