Deer Creek shortstop Jordan Boyer verbally committed to Wichita State on Tuesday, announcing his decision on Twitter.
“I have officially committed to play baseball for Wichita State University! Excited to be a part of such a great tradition! #GoShockers,” he tweeted.
Boyer hit .398 with two home runs, 22 RBIs and 43 runs out of the leadoff spot last season for the Antlers.
Deer Creek coach Ron Moore said Wichita State was a good fit for Boyer.
New Wichita State coach Todd Butler had recruited Boyer during his time at Arkansas. Also, Wichita State’s Director of Baseball Operations Scott Gurss played for Moore and graduated from Deer Creek.
