TULSA —Donald Roy Seigfried, 55, charged with a crime against nature involving dogs engaging in sex with humans, decided Monday to not to ask for a jury trial.
No plea agreement was reached, District Judge William Kellough was told. Seigfried is scheduled to enter a formal plea to the charge Nov. 17. At an earlier hearing Seigfried, pleaded not guilty.
A co-defendant in the case — Diane Sue Whalen, 55 — also waived her rights to a jury trial and entered a no contest plea earlier. She is due to be sentenced Friday.
Two of Whalen's dogs — a Labrador and a Weimaraner — were ordered forfeited to the sheriff in civil court proceedings, and the dogs were sent them to a rehabilitation center in Utah.
In videos confiscated by police, dogs are seen engaging in sex acts with humans, according to an affidavit filed by Tulsa County Sheriff's investigators.
Deputies reported that in executing search warrants at the Seigfried and Whalen homes, they found what they described as a sex machine, along with 119 other items such as computers, a camcorder, digital camera, more than 70 video tapes, CDs, eight dog booties, seven leashes, six dog collars, and a can of dog cologne.
Seigfried and Whalen each are free on bond. They face up to 10 years imprisonment.
