WASHINGTON β€” The U.S. Air Force plans to retire some planes at two of its Oklahoma bases, but it appears the state's military installations mostly will be spared from major cutbacks in the Defense Department budget to be released Monday.

β€œIt's not going to be a big hit for us,” Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa , said after meeting with top military officials last week.
