Del City firefighters raising money for son of one of their own

Firefighters in Del City will hold a pancake breakfast on Saturday for Ryder Owen, the son of Del City firefighter Dustin Owen. Ryder was recently diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.

Firefighters in Del City will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday for Ryder Owen, the son of Del City firefighter Dustin Owen. Ryder was recently diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.

The fundraiser will be from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Del City Masonic Lodge, 4315 SE 37.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the charity that firefighters across the United States raise funds for through the MDA Fill the Boot program, according to Maj. Brandon Pursell, public information officer for the Del City Fire Department.

Tickets to the breakfast are $5, available at the door.

Those who cannot attend the breakfast can send a donation to P.O. Box 55653, Oklahoma City, OK 73155.
