Del City police captain surrenders to authorities

A Del City police captain charged with manslaughter in a March 14 shooting death surrendered to authorities Friday morning.

Del City police Capt. Randy Trent Harrison, 47, surrendered at the Oklahoma County jail.

Harrison was charged Thursday with first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of Dane Garrett Scott Jr., 18, following a March 14 car chase.

Harrison posted $10,000 bond and left the jail with his attorney. He did not answer questions from media as he left the jail.

His attorney, Irven Box, said, “We hope to be able to vindicate him.”
