Dems' call for end of filibuster a lesson in hypocrisy

Last week gave us the clearest lesson in hypocrisy we've seen in a long time. After vehemently opposing the overthrow of the filibuster in the U.S. Senate when the Democrats were in the minority, U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., and his Democratic cohorts who are now in the majority, have passed just that. Then-Sen. Barak Obama opposed the “nuclear option” when his party was in the minority. Now that Obama is president and seems to think that he's king, he said it's a wonderful idea so that he can participate in the ugliest government power grab in our lifetimes and before. There are two advantages of this move for the Democrats: They've taken power from the Republican minority and they've changed the subject from the abysmal start of the Affordable Care Act. Is it any wonder that our so-called leaders in Washington have such low favorability ratings?
