ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Denali National Park and Preserve plans to host a military appreciation day for up to 400 active service members and their families in September.
National Park Service officials say participants in the Sept. 16 visit will be able to drive the Denali Park Road. Weather permitting, the entire 92-mile road could be open to the military members on that day.
For other park visitors in private cars, the road will be open to mile 15.
Officials say the military day permits will be distributed to military personnel in Alaska.
