Deondre Clark says he’s trying to get brother Stevie to LSU

Deondre Clark seemed to show a subtle but excited grin when the question was asked Monday.

Could his older brother, recently dismissed Oklahoma State basketball player Stevie Clark, join him at LSU?

“I'm hopin',” Deondre Clark said, moments after he made his signing with the Tiger football team official.

Clark was asked if he was trying to persuade Stevie to follow him, and also if LSU was pursuing the point guard who is in search off a new college home.

The answer to both was a simple, “Yeah.”

Stevie Clark was dismissed from the team last week following his second arrest in five weeks.

Their mother, Dorshell Clark, wasn't so sure about the brothers' plan to reunite in Baton Rouge, La.

“I guess that's their conversation. I haven't had that conversation,” she said. “I just want Stevie to focus on school right now. He still has the opportunity to be in school (at OSU), and I want him to finish that and go from there.

“We have several coaches that are calling, some of the guys that were recruiting him before he chose to go to Oklahoma State. So it's great that he's still wanted and the door's still open. Man can't shut what God already opened, so Stevie just has to remember to walk in that pathway and he'll be all right.”
