Despite rains, some lakes still well below normal

DUNCAN -- Some areas of Oklahoma have received significant rainfall recently, providing a degree of relief from drought conditions.

But other areas continue to suffer the effects of dry conditions that have lasted for several years.



The Duncan Banner reports that lakes around Stephens County and nearby are suffering through low levels, which means a decline in the number of visitors to them.

And that means loss of money as well as water availability.
