Destiny Christian won its second straight Oklahoma Christian Schools Athletic Association title last week, but was also honored as the MaxPreps Oklahoma Team of the Week after its 59-6 win on Nov. 8 against Cookson Hills.

The Wildcats, who finished the season 11-1, beat the OKC Patriots 74-40 in the title game.

On Tuesday, Oklahoma Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Thomas Schoolcraft presented coach Joe Biddle and the team with a framed MaxPreps Oklahoma Team of the Week’”certificate during a school-wide assembly.

“At the beginning of the season, the rest of the coaches and I knew this team was going to be special. They really bonded and molded,” Biddle said in a release. “To be nominated by MaxPreps and the National Guard as team of the week, in a state which is known for football, is great. For others teams outside of Oklahoma to see Destiny Christian as a great team means our program is going in the right direction and building a true legacy.
