A Devon Energy Corp. executive will retire this summer after more than 20 years with the Oklahoma City-based company.

Vince White, Devon’s senior vice president of communications and investor relations, is set to retire Aug. 8, the company announced Friday.

White, who has been at Devon since 1993, has directed Devon’s investor relations programs as the company has grown from a small independent exploration and production company to a member of the Fortune 500. He managed the company’s relationships with key stakeholder groups through numerous mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and corporate financing activities.

“We thank Vince for his dedication to our mission and his many contributions to our success,” CEO John Richels said. “Vince’s leadership of our investor relations and communications programs has been outstanding in every respect, with an uncompromised commitment to integrity.”

Devon has brought in industry veteran Howard J. Thill to fill the opening created by White’s retirement.

Thill most recently was vice president of corporate, government and investor relations at Houston-based Marathon Oil Corp.
