Details emerge as Devon tower dominates the skyline

A recent tour of Devon Energy Center reveals some floors of the $750 million corporate headquarters are close to completion, though occupancy won’t take place until next year.

It’s 2013 and the Thunder is making its fourth appearance in the playoffs. Devon tower, a beacon shooting up 850 feet into the air, is lit up in the team’s colors of blue, orange and yellow.

Moving to the building
Devon Energy’s 1,500-strong Oklahoma City workforce will begin moving into the company’s new headquarters in early 2012. Almost as many people — 1,200 construction workers — can be found currently on the job site.
