About 44,000 people in Oklahoma soon will see their state-collected child support income drop by $25 each year.
The Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 requires the payment of $25 per qualifying child support case each year. The state Department of Human Services Division of Child Support Services paid the fees until Sept. 30.
The funds were required to reduce the federal deficit, said Gary Dart, Oklahoma Child Support Services division director.
