Did former war protesters celebrate veterans?

Regarding “It's a long time coming” (News, March 30): As a Vietnam vet, I find little solace in homecoming ceremonies held at military installations. Where else would a combat veteran expect a warm welcome but from fellow veterans? I doubt there were many “reformed” former protesters in the crowd. You can be assured the committed organizers and promoters of the wartime protests weren't there. But they're still around. While Americans have fought and died in both hot and cold wars to protect the American way, they've been diligently working for over 40 years to infiltrate virtually every aspect of our society. They control the mainstream media, run our education system from first grade through college, and exert much influence in the federal government. The cancer is close to becoming terminal.
