The process

Lethal injections are administered intravenously in each arm:

• The first dose is 2,500 mg of pentobarbital in each arm for sedation, followed by a 50 cc flush of saline.

• The second dose is 20 mg of vecuronium bromide in each arm to stop respiration, followed by a 50 cc flush of saline.

• The third dose is 50 cc of potassium chloride in each arm to stop the heart, followed by a 50 cc flush of saline.
