NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey Transit trains heading in and out of New York City are getting back on schedule.

Riders faced delays Wednesday morning after an Amtrak train became disabled near the Portal Bridge in Kearny.

Commuter trains on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line were running up to an hour behind schedule.

Midtown Direct trains have resumed service into New York after being diverted to Hoboken earlier.

Buses and PATH honored rail tickets.
