SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — Discovery Communications said Wednesday that JB Perrette, its chief digital officer, will become president of its international unit later this year.
Perrette has been with the company since October 2011. In September the company said Mark Hollinger was resigning as head of Discovery Networks International in September. He will leave the company in June.
Discovery Networks said its international ratings grew 25 percent in 2013 as it bought SBS Nordic, which runs television stations in Scandinavia, and acquired a 20 percent stake in Eurosport.
Discovery Communications Inc. shares rose 31 cents to $82.95 in morning trading Wednesday. Its shares have risen more than 23 percent over the past year.
