Distracted drivers don’t think they’re being unsafe, poll finds
A new poll by the U.S. Department of Transportation and Consumer Reports magazine says well over half those under the age of 30 admit driving while on the phone.
Not only does the poll say 63 percent of people under age 30 acknowledge driving while using a handheld phone, but “30 percent say they’ve sent text messages while behind the wheel.”
