Heritage Hall sophomore Marc Robinson has added more than 20 pounds since the end of last football season. The question is, how much more will he grow?

Robinson is 5-foot-11 but he said his dad is about 6-5.

"I’ve been told I’m still going to grow some more inches,” Robinson said. "I feel like I’m still growing.”

Robinson is one of six returning starters on defense. He said the biggest difference entering this season is the year of experience has helped him learn the intricacies of the game.

Newkirk coach Barrett Shupe hasn’t had to worry much about filling holes during preseason practice.

The Tigers have 10 returning starters on offense and nine on defense, including linebacker Ty Goodno.

Goodno (5-11, 225) had 152 tackles last season. The three-year starter has 416 for his career.

He’s also an offensive lineman.

Another starting linebacker, Trevor Presson, returns after registering more than 90 tackles as a junior.

Quarterback Shea Johnston returns after throwing for 1,457 yards.
