Jones' Thompson getting D-I attention

In his three years as a starter, Jones defensive tackle Micah Thompson has continually improved, and so have his college playing prospects.

The 6-5, 297-pounder is being looked at by Division I-A schools Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Texas Christian and Arizona. The senior's size and athleticism put him among the best DTs in the state, not just Class 2A.

And Thompson isn't the only Jones standout to have D-I interest. Just a junior, Tylor Seabolt has heard from OSU, Tulsa, Arizona and Iowa State. The 6-2, 190-pound receiver/defensive back racked up 914 yards in receptions, scored 14 touchdowns and had seven interceptions.

Northeast's Thomas does it all

After back-to-back 1-9 seasons, optimism is up at Northeast. Jack-of-all-trades Michael Thomas is a major reason why.

Heading into his third season as a starter, Thomas saw action at quarterback, receiver, strong safety and on all special teams units last year. The junior ran for 368 yards and four touchdowns for a Vikings offense that struggled mightily. He led the team in total offense with 616 yards. Meanwhile, defensively, Thomas picked off two passes and had 53 tackles.
