District 2A-8 Notebook: Colcord hoping to build on strong finish

Colcord had a rough start to 2008 on their way to a 6-4 and their first absence from the playoffs since 2002.

The Hornets lost three district games, including two one-point losses. Colcord finished strong, including a victory against district champ Vian, and coach Bud Simmons said the team is looking to pick up where it left off.

“For as poorly as we started we really put it together late,” Simmons said. “We can definitely take some positives from that and build on it to be competitive all season.”
