Pond Creek-Hunter coach David Kerr is excited to see what this season holds for the Panthers. Kerr said he expects senior running back and linebacker Brady Krittenbrink to be the “team leader” this season.

Pond Creek-Hunter reached the playoffs after posting a 7-2 regular-season record. It lost in the first round to eventual state semifinalist Davenport.

“We've got a lot of kids back, a lot of veterans, of course we have a few spots to fill, but we're pretty excited,” Kerr said. “I think our class is kind of wide open a little bit.”

First-year Medford coach John Hampton said he's looking forward to the challenge of coaching eight-man football at the Class B level after coaching in Class C last season.

He said he's impressed with senior Blake Schuster.

“He'd never played football until he came to Medford three years ago,” Hampton said. “He's more than likely going to start on both sides of the ball for me.”
