District C-1 football notebook: Finding a running back will be key for Forgan

/> "Our guys up front will probably be the key of whether we do it or not,” Shattuck coach Troy Bullard said.

With sophomore quarterback Kade Young and senior running back Brent Starbuck, Shattuck is in great shape at the skill positions. Thus, senior Lincoln Guisford and the rest of the Indians’ linemen will have to step up for Shattuck to capture its seventh straight state title.

All in the family

The continued development of Forgan sophomore quarterback Rhett Radcliff could be the difference between a high district finish and a disappointing one for the Bulldogs.

"He’s a great athlete,” Bowles said. "He’s coachable and he learns fast.”

But Rhett isn’t the only member of the Radcliff household expected to make an impact for Forgan. Twin brother Ryan Radcliff is a returning starter at tight end who is so talented Bowles might move him to tailback to fill the void left when Morris transferred.
