District changes announced in 8-man

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced some district changes in eight-man football from what was approved by the board of directors at their meeting earlier this month.

The changes came about because of incorrect ADM numbers from Medford. Medford’s numbers did not include those of Wakita. Voters passed a measure in June that paved the way for Wakita’s schools to be annexed into Medford schools.

The move bumps Medford from Class C to Class B. Southwest Covenant moves the other way, dropping to Class C from Class B. Two other schools are also affected with district changes.

Here are the changes necessitated by the change in Medford’s numbers:

-Medford from District C-3 to District B-1

-Southwest Covenant from District B-2 to District C-4

-Geary from District B-1 to District B-2

-Carney from District C-4 to District C-3
