NORMAN — Police in Norman say they've collected DNA samples from a man suspected of killing a woman in her home more than 20 years ago.
Police Capt. Tom Easley says the man is a suspect in the 1989 death of Dorothy Estes.
Estes was found dead in her home on May 8, 1989. The state medical examiner determined she had been suffocated or asphyxiated.
Police say it wasn't determined whether she had been raped — but evidence was saved for the potential of future analysis.
Police told a local newspaper that the suspect is not in custody as investigators await the results of the DNA testing by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
