Colletti said Thursday that Hunsicker will help with international scouting and development, pro scouting and minor league development.

Hunsicker spent much of the last seven years with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he was senior vice president of baseball operations. He also helped create a presence for the Rays in Latin America, and oversaw their expanded efforts in Asia and Europe.

Hunsicker has worked 34 years in Major League Baseball, including stints as GM of the Houston Astros, and in a variety of jobs with the New York Mets.
