The chat will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday on NewsOK.com's domestic violence project page at http://newsok.com/domestic-violence.

On Sunday, The Oklahoman published its coverage of domestic violence in Oklahoma. Those stories and videos are available on that page as well.

Readers are encouraged to ask questions during the chat. Experts will discuss how to find resources, what to do if you know a victim and what issues Oklahoma faces in the realm of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is a chronic problem and is at epidemic proportions in Oklahoma, said Janet Peery, the CEO of the YWCA Oklahoma City.

“When we look at the impact of that crime and recognize it's not a women's issue — it is a crime — then we begin to look at the areas of impact that it has, and the systemic issues that are created because of domestic violence,” Peery said.
