"The defense played lights out tonight," Norman coach Greg Nation said. "They did everything we needed them to."

The victory ensured that Norman, ranked No. 6 in Class 6A, will finish no worse than third in District 6A-3 and avoid a potential first-round playoff matchup against second-ranked Tulsa Union.

"We knew coming in the game meant a lot as far as playoffs," Nation said. "Our kids came in focused and ready to practice last week, and that's why we won this game."
