DORTMUND, Germany (AP) — Poland right back Lukasz Piszczek has extended his contract with reigning Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund until 2017.
The 27-year-old Piszczek said Monday on the club website that "I've been playing for Dortmund for two years and in this time I have become a part of the football culture, the club and the Borussia fans. This is a great recognition and obligation for me."
Piszczek had reportedly been a target for Real Madrid, which visits Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp says Piszczek, who joined the club in 2010 from Hertha Berlin, "is the mainspring of our game."
