Douglass' secondary was a no-fly zone on Friday night.

The Trojans successfully defended all 11 Glenpool pass attempts, intercepting two, in route to a 36-7 win at Moses Miller Stadium.

“Our focus was to limit (Glenpool's) running game and make them try to make plays through the air,” said Douglass coach Willis Alexander. “We made them have to try that, and we did a good job of not allowing any plays through the air. We coached our kids up all week, and they executed. When they do that, it makes you look better as a coach.”

Douglass (5-1, 3-0 in District 4A-2) did have some bad news Friday night as star running back/defensive end Deondre Clark was forced to sit out the second half with an apparent knee injury.

Clark, who is verbally committed to LSU as a defensive end, had 117 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries before the injury.

“He's OK,” Alexander said. “We felt like his health was more important tonight. If this were playoff football he'd have to play through that and he would've.”

Senior Brandon Gaddis made sure the Trojans didn't miss Clark offensively. Gaddis rushed for 132 yards on 19 carries with four runs of at least 15 yards in the second half.

“(Coach Alexander) always tells us when somebody goes down to pick ‘em up,” Gaddis said. “It makes it easier when I can play behind our offensive line. I love them.”
