Teen hit by van on way to school

A 13-year-old student on his way to Douglass Mid-High School was hit by a minivan early Wednesday in northeast Oklahoma City. Terrance Easton was taken to OU Medical Center about 7:30 a.m. after being hit by a westbound vehicle on NE 8 near N Bath Avenue, police said. Easton, a seventh-grader, remained at the hospital in good condition Wednesday afternoon, hospital spokeswoman Natalie Fix said. Master Sgt. Gary Knight said the teen ran into the roadway but was not at a crosswalk. The driver was not cited.

Author gives lecture at church

Author Brian McLaren will present a lecture at 7 p.m. Friday at Mayflower Congregational Church UCC, 3901 NW 63. Cost is $10 at the door. McLaren is author of the book “Why Did Jesus, Moses, the Buddha, and Mohammed Cross the Road?” As part of his visit to the church, he will sign copies of his book. Injuries claim stabbing victim

A man who was stabbed multiple times about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday died that night at a Tulsa hospital, police said. Police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of N Gary Place and found Devin Maggs, 24, in critical condition. Officer Jillian Roberson said Maggs confronted another man, Eric Jason Spears, 27, about damage to Maggs' vehicle that stemmed from a dispute over a woman. Spears posted $25,000 bail and was released from jail before Maggs died. Police are looking for Spears. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-2677.
