Cranes are going, piers are being drilled, and walls are falling in place seemingly at every corner downtown as we enter into a frenzy of development.
With so much going on, it’s almost hopeless now to provide the sort of updates I once did – so for now this photo update will have to suffice.
First up: KD’s Restaurant in Lower Bricktown
If you’ll recall, this was a project that went through quite a bit of scrutiny last year. Lower Bricktown developer Randy Hogan, accustomed to pretty much getting a quick approval from the Urban Renewal Authority on each new pad he built, ran into a surprise bit of resistance. Standards of the past, he learned, were no longer good enough.
As a refresher, here’s what he first attempted:

A lot of pier drilling is taking place:
As a reminder, the contractor has promised that we will go from the pier drilling we see in the photo to the following image by December (that sounds a bit too aggressive):
Pier drilling also has been well underway for the new Main Street Parking Garage being built south of City Hall:

The Edge in MidTown, meanwhile, is rapidly moving to construction phase:
