Urban group honors leaders
Urban Neighbors, an association of downtown residents and merchants, will honor two business leaders at its Nov. 12 meeting and hear a presentation on MAPS 3 by Greater Oklahoma City Chamber President Roy Williams. The group will honor John Williams, general manager of the Skirvin Hilton, and Avis Scaramucci, owner of Nonna’s and The Painted Door. The two will receive the Urban Neighbors Ambassador Award for their commitment to downtown and to helping Urban Neighbors. The Urban Neighbors social will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Untitled Artspace, 1 NE 3. For more information, visit www.urbanneighbors.org.
Developer continues building Broadway renovations
Developer Steve Mason is moving forward with renovations at 1007 N Broadway after last week’s addition of the adjoining 1015 N Broadway building to the National Register of Historic Places. Renovations will include roof repairs and a facade restoration, and Mason reports it will open next spring as home to a retail furniture store.
Sapphire Bar and Lounge sets grand opening celebration
Sapphire Bar and Lounge will hold its grand opening with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. The lounge fills a space previously home to longtime attraction Lit at 308 E Sheridan.
