Bound 4 Glory and Beyond gave away about 200 donated dresses Friday to make it easier for local high school students to attend their proms.

Regina Roberts said she founded the nonprofit two years ago after seeing a need in the community. The giveaway was a partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County.

Kristin Ince, 17, of Guthrie High School, chose a dress Friday and said the giveaway was “really nice.”

Caroline Brown, 17, of Midwest City High School, said receiving a free prom dress will help her meet a goal.

“I'm saving for an apartment, and this really helps,” she said.

The dresses were donated by Heritage College, Heritage Hall and private individuals, Roberts said.
