Drought plagues Oklahoma lakes

DUNCAN -- Officials at lakes throughout Oklahoma are concerned about the recreational possibilities at their sites, due to the ongoing drought.

With some major holidays upcoming -- Memorial Days, Independence Day, Labor Day -- they know that recreational activity could be further impacted unless the state gets rain.

The Duncan Banner, in a story on the four local lakes and how they are faring, notes that it takes about three good rainy days to begin refilling the water.
