Law enforcement investigators seized 3,000 packets of a synthetic drug on Thursday at a Grand Lake convenience store.

Gitter Done, a convenience store located on the north side of Cowskin Bridge, was shut down Thursday afternoon by the two northeast Oklahoma Drug Task Force agencies after an undercover agent purchased a synthetic controlled substance drug, known as K2, said Mike Eason, a Delaware and Ottawa County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigator.

“No one is in custody,” Eason said.

Stronger than pot

“Three grams of this drug sells for almost $40,” Eason said. “The drug is 10 times stronger than marijuana.”

The synthetic controlled drug is marketed as incense or potpourri and is kept locked up behind the store's checkout counter, he said.

The seizure comes off the heels of a yearlong undercover drug operation with the local drug task force and the state's Board of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, he said.

“We had been receiving complaints that people were having serious medical conditions after smoking the drug,” Eason said. “People were having seizures, heart attacks — one person almost died — he survived but was hospitalized for a month.”

The drug is marketed “not for human consumption,” he said.
