LAS VEGAS (AP) — A drive to raise the profile of drug intervention courts is making a stop in Las Vegas to highlight a state court intervention program, just in time for 60 people to graduate.

Court information officer Mary Ann Price says the group called All Rise America! On the Road for Recovery stopped Wednesday at the Clark County Commission chambers.

The trip started Monday in California, with plans to stop in 26 communities in 13 states before ending on May 31 in New York City.

Clark County District Court Judge Linda Marie Bell presides over adult specialty courts in the Eighth Judicial District Court, including drug courts.

Graduates must complete treatment and counseling programs in what officials call a cost-effective way to provide a new start toward a drug- and crime-free life.
