DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Duke coach David Cutcliffe says starting quarterback Sean Renfree appears probable for this week's game at Virginia Tech.

Cutcliffe said after practice Thursday that Renfree will be re-evaluated Friday. Renfree missed last week's win over Virginia with an injured throwing elbow suffered two weeks ago when a Wake Forest player hit his right arm.

Backup Anthony Boone led two touchdown drives in the win against the Demon Deacons and threw four touchdown passes in the win over the Cavaliers. Cutcliffe says Boone was involved in a fender-bender Thursday morning but was not hurt.

Cutcliffe also says safety Brandon Braxton will be back after missing the Virginia game with an upper body injury.

The surprising Blue Devils (5-1, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) visit the Hokies (3-3, 1-1) on Saturday.
