Durant glad Texas won

Kevin Durant, who has openly flaunted his pride in the University of Texas despite now being an Oklahoma transplant, toned down his stance Saturday following the Sooners' heartbreaking 45-35 Red River Rivalry defeat.

“It was a great game,” Durant said. “Oklahoma's a great football team, but we came out on top. That was the best game I've seen from two quarterbacks in a while. They really played well. But I'm glad we came out on top.”

Kevin Durant cheers for his alma mater? Wow...How surprising. Welcome to the world of professional sports.

I dont know why this is news either. Francis, your bias has blinded you to the truth once again. The Sunday paper had OSU in color on the front of the Postgame. OU got the back 2 pages. On this site, in the sports section, there is a OSU article BEFORE an OU article. An Oklahoma State BASEBALL article is listed first in the OU football section. Today there are 4 articles about OSU football and 3 about OU football. Here is a hint. If you continue to troll the OU articles, you are going to find -gasp- OU ARTICLES! AMAZING! Get a life.

Who cares? How is this news? Did the Dallas Morning News run a series of articles like this with Eduardo Najera when he played for the Dallas Mavericks 2000-2004?

I would not blame Durant for wanting to leave this place. If this is considered an issue to made public in the local media, then this place is probably too small town for his professional taste. I think this will end up being the case for most high profile NBA players.

All that matters is how Durant plays for the Thunder. His loyalty to TU means nothing. Dallas residents, who are former Okies, don't sabotage their Texas employers. I was one, of those workers, in the 80's and will be again soon. People do their jobs or they lose their jobs.

Maybe trading Durant isn't such a bad idea, at least you'll get something for him. Talk like this will gaurantee that he will leave the first chance that he gets, and leaves the Thunder with nothing in return.

It is quite understandable that Kevin feels this way, I now I would feel the same about my college teams. I still feel the same way about my old High School teams. Is the DOK trying to make an issue or cause friction?

it figures some idiot would write "time to trade durant." i guess the thunder should only draft players who played at ou or osu.

He went to Texas for 7 months. He is full of cow feces refering to UT as "we." I am tired of the one season and out players acting like they are alums, not just a kid who played ball at a place for a little while. Make them play for three years like college football and the NFL requires. How do you make the color orange? Get some crimson and put some yellow in it.

Why is this a story? He went to Texas, he's allowed to be a fan. I guess you would expect Adrian Peterson to start cheering for University of Minnesota? Or Roy Williams should now be a Texas fan because he lives in Dallas? This isn't news.
