DVD review: 'Dream House'
“Dream House”
From the floorboards up to the rafters, Jim Sheridan's “Dream House” is a structural mess, a strangely paced and unsatisfying wallow in pulp from a director known for his intense humanity, not indulgences in supernatural horror.
Based on a filmography that includes “My Left Foot,” “In the Name of the Father” and “In America,” it is entirely understandable why Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts would join the project, but Sheridan and screenwriter David Loucka give almost everything away at the halfway mark, leaving a talented but underserved cast to mark time until the credits.
