Dynamo beat Real Salt Lake 1-0 in MLS

Published: September 6, 2012

HOUSTON (AP) — Colin Clark's stoppage-time penalty kick gave Houston a 1-0 victory over Real Salt Lake on Thursday night, helping the Dynamo extend their unbeaten streak at home to 22 matches.

Houston earned the penalty three minutes into stoppage time when Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando fouled Macoumba Kandji inside the area, and Clark drove a left-foot shot straight down the middle to end the club's four-match winless stretch.

Brad Davis wasted an earlier chance to put the Dynamo ahead when he missed from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.

Both teams went into the match without several frontline players due to international duties, suspension or illness.
