Eagle Ridge Institute

Tim Henley, Staff Writer Published: July 27, 2008

The institute takes about 15 women and their children at a time.

During her stay at Eagle Ridge, Dunn received counseling and attended parenting, anger management, coping skills, job training and drug abuse classes.

Although she completed a year-and-a-half at the institute, Dunn can still be seen at the facility every weekday. She is the community outreach fundraising coordinator. She helps secure grants and volunteers to help keep the institute functioning. She also is a shoulder to lean on for the other women.

“I try to encourage them because I know what they’ve been through,” she said.
