Members of the Early American Glass Club celebrated their 75th anniversary with a party in the home of DeAnn Parham. Kamela Gamble catered the dinner with foods from the various decades of the club including a 1970’s green fondue pot and also a bowl of little smokies.

“Decades of Diamonds” theme was used for the party. There were ‘diamonds’ everywhere including table scatters, chandeliers, tiaras and hung on crystal ropes from the ceiling. The signature drink was a champagne cocktail and party favors were white Frankoma trivets with the invitation logo.

Cut outs of people from the decades were set around the Parham home including life-sized Audrey Hepburn, Elvis, Liberace, Sean Connery, Marilyn Monroe, Tatum Channing. Mirror balls were hung in a tree at the front door.

The Club has been meeting monthly since 1938 in members’ homes. They get out all of the wonderful china, crystal, silver that they use when they are decorating their tables for the very special Guest Day Luncheon in May at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club . (This year it is May 14th).

Frances and Ted Oney drove a 1930’s car to the party. There was a slide show presentation of 600 photographs taken through the years including a story bylined Nan Sheets written in 1938.

At the event were Susan Robertson, Samonia Byford, Sharlene Branham, Jan Smith, Jodie Kerr, Marjorie Polk, Cheryl Hewitt, Patty Stevens, Kathy Lippert, Mila Hill, Nadine Holloway, Phyllis Brawley, Margaret Ann Sanders, Pam Couch, Tommy Palmer and Imogene Collins.
