Early penalty sunk Baylor vs. OU

WACO, Texas — Baylor had just one penalty in the first half. But it was costly. At the Baylor 5, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford stuck an interception into the chest of Bears linebacker Joe Pawelek early in the first quarter. But officials flagged cornerback Antareis Bryan for pass interference on Juaquin Iglesias at the back of the end zone, giving OU the ball at the Baylor 2. Baylor fans didn't like the call, offering up their loudest boos of the game. DeMarco Murray scored on the next play to give OU a 14-0 lead.

Murran is still hampered by the knee injury even if no on is admitting it. Take a look at the replays and notice he is not hitting the holes fast enough and is not cutting like he used to. Still a pretty good runner but not like last year. The pass interference penalty was pretty close and on replays on TV it looked like it was after the interception. I do not think it would have made one difference in the score but.....

DeMarco will be fine. Still working his way back and in the meanwhile Mosis Madu looks like he has some big play ability in him. Plus they even get Matt Clapp involved. Best Oklahoma Offense of this era, hands down! It is like a machine although there is no true power game. We will beat Texas by 4 touchdowns. BTW, Allen Patrick was a transformed DB from a 1AA school. Did a lot of positive things for the Sooners and got drafted, got cut, but lived up to his potential. No need to dog him, he was a great Sooner.

richard is correct to some degree, demarco has looked worse this year than last year, it may be the kneecap, but still he is supposed to be a big play threat but he has not busted any long runs this year yet... but hopefully that changes against the longhorns

Richard, I'm not sure which Demarco you've been watching, but it hasn't been Murray. And the Patrick comment is absurd! He would go down if anyone laid a finger on him.

Murray laid some dudes out yesterday, but if you'll notice, most of the tackles on him were around his ankles or lower legs. I think they might have been trying some of that TCU defense philosophy.

The headline to this article is absurd. Sometimes I wonder about the geeks who sit and write these headlines. I think Baylor was " sunk " before they ever took the field. ................ and oh yeah, Richard ........... its just you.

it is you, Murray breaks lots of tackles. Go watch the playback. Kejuan Jones was the wimpiest runner.

Richard, Village Mills, It's you. He's not whimpy he just tries too hard to break a long run. DeMarco can take a hit. He's too impatient to let the zones blocks get settled and then make his cut. I think the way OU has been blocking Chris just seemes to look better because he'll bounce around in between the tackles. DeMarco want to hit and then pop for a long run. The long runs haven't been available. DeMarco seems to do better on stretch and plays that get him to the edge.

Is it just me or is Demarco Murray the wimpiest runner OU has had in awhile...he goes down on first contact and does not finish off runs...oh to have even Allen Patrick back....
