Earth Day event in Norman raises environmental awareness

The city of Norman’s 2014 Earth Day celebration in Reaves Park featured a variety of activities, demonstrations and booths designed to raise environmental awareness.

Visitors to Reaves Park participated in hands-on activities designed to raise environmental awareness during the city’s annual Earth Day celebration.

Participants chose from a variety of free plants, took home seed packets, watched planting demonstrations and gathered information from booths sponsored by government, nonprofit and private organizations.

Children also staged a bicycle rodeo and dug for fossils in an exhibit sponsored by the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
