A 3.4 magnitude earthquake was reported Sunday evening, with residents saying they felt two separate quakes in the area just before 5:30 p.m.

The quake was centered about four miles north, northeast of Edmond. The depth of the quake was five kilometers, which is considered quite shallow and might have made the earthquake feel stronger, officials said.

There have been a series of earthquakes in the northeastern part of the Oklahoma City metro area in the past several weeks. The strongest quake, reported last week, measured 3.9 magnitude.
