East Central's Armonty Bryant is The Oklahoman's State College Football Player Of The Week

Defensive end had eight tackles — five for a loss — to go along with three sacks, two pass breakups and two forced fumbles in Saturday's win over Southern Nazarene.

Hometown: Wichita Falls, Texas

Scouting report: Bryant led the Tigers defense with eight tackles, including five for minus-39 yards. He had two forced fumbles, two pass breakups and sacked Southern Nazarene quarterback Dylan Terry three times. Bryant was a big reason why East Central held SNU to just 88 total yards during a 37-15 win Saturday night at Norris Field in Ada.

Did you know? Bryant was a D2Football.com first-team All-American as a sophomore. He made an immediate impact for East Central after transferring from Cisco (Texas) Junior College. Out of high school, Bryant signed with Abilene Christian.
