Easter activities for children are planned throughout the metro this week. Here are a few of the free and low-cost events.
Choctaw Creek Park: The city's annual egg hunt will follow the Oldtimers Parade, which begins downtown at 10 a.m. Saturday and ends at the park, 20001 N Harper. The hunt coincides with the eighth annual Choctaw Land Run Festival, which is Thursday through Saturday. Call 390-8276.
Edmond Church of Christ: The free Easter Eggstravaganza will have an egg hunt and carnival at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 801 S Bryant. Call 341-3353.
Rose State College: The Midwest City Junior Service League's annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny includes games, crafts and doughnuts. Activities are from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the student center, 6420 SE 15. Admission is $2 per child. Call 733-7311.
Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History: Crafts, games and science activities will be Wednesday at the museum, 2401 Chautauqua Ave. Admission is free. Activities are from 4 to 7 p.m., and an egg hunt will be at 6:30. Call 325-4712.
Andrews Park: The city of Norman will sponsor its annual Easter egg hunt at the park, 201 W Daws St. Activities including inflatables and games beginning at 5:30 p.m., with a hunt set for 6:30 p.m. Friday. Call 366-5472.
Lake Thunderbird State Park: An Easter egg hunt for ages 2 to 10 will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crow's Corral, near the intersection of Clear Bay Avenue and State Highway 9. Call 360-3572.
Belle Isle Library: Librarians will host a class called “What's a Bunny to Do?” featuring stories, activities and a snack at 10 a.m. April 27 at the library, 5501 N Villa. Call 843-9601.
Capitol Hill Library: Learn the history of Easter eggs and create a unique design from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at 334 SW 26. Activities are open to ages 6 to 12. Call 634-6308.
Oklahoma City Zoo: Doughnuts, crafts, animal feedings, egg hunt and close-up encounters with the zoo's bunnies will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday. Activities are free with zoo admission, which is $8 for adults, $5 for ages 3 to 12 and free for age 2 and younger. Call 424-3344.
Orr Family Farm: The annual Easter Celebration will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the farm, 14200 S Western Ave. Egg hunts, egg decorating, Easter Bunny pictures, train rides and other activities are planned. Admission is $10.50 for age 3 and older. Call 799-3276.
Camp DaKaNi: Camp Fire USA Heart of Oklahoma Council is hosting an open house with an egg hunt, scavenger hunt, camp tour and games from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the camp, 3309 E Hefner Road. Call 254-2080.
